Katherine Pickering is the circuit minister with pastoral responsibility for Didcot, Milton and Wallingford. She also supervises the two Community Chaplains.
Katherine and her husband Ian live in Didcot and they have two adult children based in London and Abingdon.
This is Katherine's first appointment, having come to the circuit as a probationer in 2013. She was born in Wantage but moved away after only a year, so is pleased to discover her roots after a long time away!
She grew up in Weymouth and then near Warrington. She studied physics at Oxford, worked for a few years in microelectronics research at GEC in Wembley and then was a primary school teacher in Harrow. She trained for ministry at Wesley House in Cambridge.
She is keen to encourage children and adults to explore and grow in faith through small groups and engaging in worship. She has a growing interest in chaplaincy, through the circuit's pioneering community chaplaincy project. She also has an interest in Christian art and using paintings in worship and Biblical reflection.
Katherine enjoys cycling, walking, singing in the community gospel choir and spending time with family and friends.
